Ihr erinnert euch vielleicht noch an “The Ocarina of Rhyme”, das großartige Mash-Up-Album von Team Teamwork, das gute Rapper über Zelda-Melodien gemischt hat.
Dieses Jahr bringen uns diese Jungs mit Vinyl Fantasy 7 ein ähnliches Projekt, nur diesmal eben mit dem Soundtrack zu, riiichtig, Final Fantasy VII.
Vom melodiösen Standpunkt befindet sich FFVII zwar nicht mal in der selben Dimension wie Zelda, dafür passt das ganze aber allgemein ein wenig besser zu den Raps.
Mein Favorit: MF Doom‘s “Air” über “Barret’s Theme”:

Schon vor etwa einem Jahr hatte Martin Lihs, Student an der Bauhaus Universität in Weimar, seine WiiMote-Sprühdosen-Kombination vorgestellt. Jetzt gibt es endlich Neues; z.B. in Form dieses Videos von WiiSpray.

Laut Lihs wurden nur WiiMote-Technologie und Flash in dieser Präsentation verwendet und auch wenn ich denke, dass das Ganze auf einem normal großen Display weitaus weniger gut funktionier dürfte – man wird doch noch von einem Jet Set Radio-Remake träumen dürfen, oder, SEGA!!!?!

Zusammen mit dem “Coming Soon” am Ende des Videos läßt das doch direkt hoffen, dass WiiSpray wirklich irgendwann für eine breitere Masse zugänglich wird.

Irgendwelche Verrückte haben dieses MashUp aus Zeldamelodien/-sounds und zum Großteil sehr guten HipHop-Tracks gemacht. Während vor allem Lost Woods am Anfang noch sehr gezwungen klingt, wird das ganze bei späteren Tracks immer passender, so dass man manchmal fast nicht mehr merkt, dass hier über “Zelda-Beats” gerappt wird. Auf Rapper-Seite kommen unter anderem Größen wie Common, MF Doom und Jay-Z zum Zug.
